Fritzi Horstman on Shame, Forgiveness and Compassion

Fritzi Horstman is the Founder and Executive Director of the Compassion Prison Projection organization dedicated to bringing compassion, childhood trauma awareness, and creative inspiration to all men and women living behind bars.

She is currently directing “Step Inside the Circle,” a documentary about childhood trauma behind bars. The PSA created from some of the footage from the documentary has already received over 2 million views across all platforms.

Fritzi is passionate about equality, civil rights, education, and stories about justice. It is her life’s work to makes sure these stories get told.

Andy Vasily is an educator who wants to push his understanding of teaching and learning to a deeper level. Andy decided to begin blogging to share his teaching practice and connect with other educators and top researchers around the world. The value that he saw in this exchange of vision and practical applications led to an enriched professional learning journey that he has shared with practitioners and scholars alike.

In this conversation, we expand on Andy’s inner exploration, starting with darkness in his life and experiences. Andy shares what works for him to keep the darkness from overwhelming him. In this episode, we are joined by many returning guests, Joe Jackowski, Nick Buegel, and Jordan Criss. As this is a Friendsgiving episode, we recorded before we had our yearly get together.
